Where Should You Create Your Sacred Space?

Your sacred space can be anywhere that works best for you. It should feel safe, calm and peaceful. It's an area you can always go to where you can experience stillness, peace of mind and reconnect with yourself.

Here are some options:

  • Outside in nature (a corner of your yard perhaps)

  • In a she shed

  • A quiet corner of your bedroom

  • An unused space in your home office

  • A bay window

  • On the floor in a quiet undisturbed area

  • A spare room

The point is that your sacred space if just for you. It's an area where you won't be disturbed by others. It's your own personal, at home spiritual retreat.

How to Set Up Your Sacred Space.

There is no right or wrong way to set up your sacred space. It can be as simple or elaborate as you choose. It can, and probably will, expand over time as you add items that are sacred and meaningful to you. Like you, it will evolve, shift, grow and change.

You can place your items on a small stand, on a table, or on the floor. Use any surface that works for you which will remain undisturbed by others.

Before setting up your space, always prepare the area and the items you'll be placing there. This clears the area and raises the vibration of the space. It lightens up the energy, which will feel amazing to you as you spend time there.

You can do this in several ways:

  • Smudge with sage

  • Burn Palo Santo

  • Burn incense

  • Place a bowl of salt water in the center of the space and leave it out overnight

  • Ring bells

  • Play singing bowls

  • Play Hz frequencies

What Items Will You Need?

You can place whatever you like in your sacred space. It's your personal haven where you can engage in your spiritual practices and self-care routines, so make sure you fill it with whatever is special and personally meaningful to you.

Here are some examples of items for your sacred space:

  • An altar

  • Meditation cushion or chair

  • Yoga mat, straps, and bricks

  • Crystals

  • Candles
